INSECURITIES BOX

During the research period of my project i decided to changed my view on this project and turned to the idea of insecurities, everybody has at least one insecurity.

During a Thursday called the classes attention and asked them if they would take part in an activity, after handing them all a piece of paper i asked if they would anonymously write down thier insecurities and asked if the would put their age, once they had finished i asked if they would fold the paper and place them into a box i have sealed and taken home with me where i then added my own list of insecurities.

interview with Gemma nichol about her breast enlargement

WHY HAVE YOU DECIDED TO GET  BREAST ENLARGEMENT ?

Because they hinder me in many ways i.e. in what i wear as a fashion student thats important to me,i'm insecure about them anyway they make me disproportional and i can afford them ,they will make me feel and look better so i don't see why i shouldn't.

WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM ?

I knew about them from a young age and decided i wanted them form 16.

DOES THE PROCEDURE SCARE YOU ?

Im scared of the anaesthetic because ive never had it.

HOW DO YOU THINK PEOPLE WILL  REACT ?

I expect lots of attention good and bad but i'm doing it for anybody else and i don't care about their views it will make me feel better in myself.

HOW WILL IT CHANGE YOU  ?

I wont drastically change how i dress but i will be more comfortable wearing different clothes.

HOW DO YOUR PARENTS FEEL ?

My mam is really understanding it as she understands, my dad isn't happy on a protective basis and my friends seem supportive.

I would like to thank Gemma for allowing me to interview her, visit Gemma s fashion blog through the link below:

Defintion of beauty

Beauty (also called prettiness, loveliness or comeliness) is a characteristic of a person, animal, place, object, or idea that provides a perceptual experience of pleasure or satisfaction. Beauty is studied as part of aesthetics, sociology, social psychology, and culture. An "ideal beauty" is an entity which is admired, or possesses features widely attributed to beauty in a particular culture, for perfection.

The experience of "beauty" often involves the interpretation of some entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to feelings of attraction and emotional well-being. Because this is a subjective experience, it is often said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

There is evidence that perceptions of beauty are evolutionarily determined, that things, aspects of people and landscapes considered beautiful are typically found in situations likely to give enhanced survival of the perceiving humans genes.

The classical Greek noun for "beauty" was κάλλος, kallos, and the adjective for "beautiful" was καλός, kalos. The Koine Greek word for beautiful was ὡραῖος, hōraios,an adjective etymologically coming from the word ὥρα, hōra, meaning "hour". In Koine Greek, beauty was thus associated with "being of one's hour". Thus, a ripe fruit (of its time) was considered beautiful, whereas a young woman trying to appear older or an older woman trying to appear younger would not be considered beautiful. In Attic Greek, hōraios had many meanings, including "youthful" and "ripe old age".

If someone is aesthetically pleasing does this make them beautiful or are the just nice to look at and admire? is it our  insecurities that gives us our personatlity and individuality, if we were all the same would we still be insecure?.

I believe even if we all looked the same we would still keep a tight grasp of our insecurites, you will never see yourself as perfect there will always be a magazine article or an image waiting to jump out and show what the world thinks you should like I belive its our flaws that make us who we are our flaws that makes us beautiful.
